What it is: Relativity Park is an interactive browser demo where the speed of light is 5 km/h, roughly a brisk walk.
Gist: Moving around the park makes special relativity visible at everyday speed. As you accelerate, the demo shows length contraction, time dilation, Terrell rotation, aberration, and light Doppler shifts: objects ahead shift blue, objects behind shift red, and moving objects show transverse Doppler effects.
The useful thing is not just the physics topic, but the form factor. Instead of explaining relativity as equations or diagrams, it makes perception itself feel strange. You can look, stop, toggle effects, reset, and compare the relativistic view with a more Galilean one.
Newsletter angle: A small web simulation can be a sharper explainer than a long static article. This is “simulation as explanation” for concepts that are otherwise hard to build intuition for.
